I am Gabe Marshall, a professional graphic designer and illustrator as well as traditional fine artist. Born and raised in Auburn, AL, I earned my BFA in Visual Communications from Auburn University in 1996. My 27 years of experience and lifelong passion for art and design continues to drive me each and every day.
I love my craft and practice it with respect and dignity, and I hope that reflects in every project I do, be it professionally (paid), personally or pro bono.
I worked for myself as a freelance designer and illustrator for 4.5 years (March 2009 to September 2013) via my company, Marshall Arts. Having my own company was a personal goal of mine that I worked very hard to achieve. Though I don’t operate on a full-time basis anymore, I still continue to do freelance work in my personal time.

2017 - Present
Design Lead | Illustrator | Laser Engraver
I design custom self-promotional catalogs, newspaper and magazine advertisement, vinyl and digital billboards, direct mail and internal store signage and point of purchase designs.
I design and perform custom laser engravings on various jewelry items and an array of metals.
2013 - 2017
Creative Director
I led a team of 5 designers in medium sized company with a very fast-paced environment. A complete corporate brand development company that performed all messaging, design, brand overhaul, web/UX and video.
2009 - Present
Freelance/Contract Designer
I completely worked for myself from home doing commissioned illustration work, publication designs, brochures, logos and branding, posters, direct mail pieces and a host of other visual communication works.
2003 - 2009
Creative Director
I helped manage the production of up to 24 jewelry catalogs at the peak of our growth. I also designed ads, brochures and self-promo pieces, as well as maintain image quality and developed internal network infrastructure.
1998 - 2003
Art Director of Custom Publishing
I produced custom catalogs, magazines and brochures for multiple businesses, both large and small. I also designed advertisements for Augusta Magazine including the prestigious Masters® edition and I did a few custom illustrations to accompany magazine articles.
